MPN Leadership for Impact Programme Develops Future Board Leaders
The Multicultural Professional Network (MPN) has delivered its Leadership for Impact Programme, an inclusive leadership initiative designed to equip aspiring leaders with the skills, confidence and governance capability required for board and leadership roles across sectors.
Delivered in Brisbane on 17 April 2026 with the support of The Macmahon Foundation, the programme brought together 40 participants from aspiring, mid-level and senior professional backgrounds, many of whom identified as ‘board-ready’ or ‘board-curious’. Participants represented a broad cross-section of community, corporate and public sector backgrounds.
The programme was developed to address the ongoing underrepresentation of talent in governance and decision-making roles by providing accessible, practical and applied leadership development.
A blended learning model combined in-person workshops and online learning via MPN’s ImpactSphere platform, alongside mentoring support. Core development areas included inclusive and values-based leadership, governance readiness, board participation, and personal wellbeing for sustainable leadership.
Participants also engaged in peer learning and structured reflection activities, strengthening leadership confidence and practical governance understanding.
Scholarships were provided to improve accessibility and remove financial barriers for those who may not otherwise have been able to attend.
Participants reported increased board readiness and improved confidence, along with greater clarity around pathways into formal governance roles.
Nora Fraser, Founder and CEO of MPN, said: “Leadership for Impact reflects our commitment to building inclusive leadership pathways and ensuring all voices are represented at decision-making tables. We look forward to expanding the programme nationally. By combining governance capability, leadership development and wellbeing, the programme supports leaders to create meaningful and sustainable impact.”
The Leadership for Impact Programme forms part of MPN’s broader commitment to advancing inclusive leadership and improving equitable access to governance and decision-making roles.
