Boost Juice founder Janine Allis and award-winning brand strategist Matt Purcell have announced a three-state Business Growth Intensive tour to help founders navigate the hidden struggles of entrepreneurship.

The half-day events running in Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane, aim to give business owners practical frameworks to uncover hidden profit, build scalable structures, and step into leadership with real confidence.

Only about 76.5 per cent of businesses survive beyond their first year, and nearly half don’t make it past four years.

Meanwhile, the annual business exit rate hovers near 14-15 per cent, a level of churn that threatens long-term owners.

Allis and Purcell say the challenges most business owners face are rarely spoken about openly:

  • Revenue is rising, but profit isn’t.

  • Marketing spend isn’t sticking.

  • Teams are busy, but not aligned.

  • Leaders are stuck in the trenches instead of steering strategy.

  • Cashflow is leaking, but the problem is invisible.

“Starting is easy. Anyone can register an ABN,” Allis explains. “But staying in the game? That’s something else entirely. It takes courage, resilience, and the kind of bravery that keeps you moving forward even when the odds aren’t in your favour.”

Allis built Boost Juice from scratch, famously selling her family home to fund its launch.

“For years I wasn’t on a salary. I worked seven days a week with no balance, because in those early years, there is no work-life balance. There is only life. I made a lot of mistakes, but those mistakes became the lessons that built successful national and international businesses.”

Purcell’s journey was equally scrappy.

“I failed school, never went to uni, and put my entire savings into my first business. I sacrificed personally, worked day and night, and was told I’d never make it. But being the underdog gave me a hunger that nothing else could. That hunger turned setbacks into fuel, and helped me achieve everything I once imagined.”

Together, they co-founded The Business Academy to give entrepreneurs what they say they needed most in their own journeys, direct access to people who’ve done it before.

The Business Growth Intensive is designed to share the playbooks that Allis, Purcell and their Business Academy experts have used to grow their businesses.

Purcell says, “The fastest way to improve your business isn’t another book, another podcast, or another course you’ll never finish. The fastest way is to get yourself in a room with people who’ve actually done it before. People with scars, playbooks, and proof. You compress years of mistakes into hours of learning. You see the truth about what works and what doesn’t. You get clarity that Google can’t give you, and accountability that no YouTube video will ever provide. That’s why events matter. They’re the ultimate shortcut. One idea, one conversation, one shift in the room can be worth more than months of grinding in the dark.”

The Business Growth Intensive three-state tour will run across Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane.
Sydney 22 September
Adelaide 1 October
Brisbane 7 October

Each half-day intensive features Allis, Purcell and the Business Academy coaching team across finance, marketing, operations, culture and sales.
