The Australian arm of UK healthcare recruitment group MCG Healthcare has acquired Sydney-based TaylorCare Recruitment, a specialist recruitment agency for the care sector, in a buyout aimed at giving the newcomer a shot in the arm to its growth ambitions in the domestic market.
The deal for TaylorCare is the first since MCG Healthcare established a dedicated Australian division in May this year and it expands the group’s footprint nationally after striking a series of strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, including National Dental Care, during the year.
TaylorCare Recruitment was founded in 2013 by Kate and Ryan Taylor to deliver a high-quality recruitment service for the government, non-government, charities and private care sectors of Australia.
The company provides employment services Australia wide for social workers, counsellors, nurses, psychologists and executives, including positions in regional and remote locations.
MCG Healthcare APAC is led by Paris Matin, a healthcare recruiter with more than 13 years’ experience in the sector, who previously was national director of healthcare at Cranfield Group.
Under his leadership, MCG Healthcare APAC is said to have made significant strides growing its business in the aged care, allied health, community services, and the social work and psychology sectors.
“I feel proud that Paris Matin is taking over the business,” says Kate Taylor, co-founder and former managing director of TaylorCare Recruitment.
“Seeing him grow the brand I’ve built with his team will be huge and I’m looking forward to the future of the business under their brand.”
Taylor departed from the company following the acquisition and has since announced a new position as people and culture manager at Morton Property.
Matin describes the acquisition as a “big step for us since opening our doors this year”.
“As a fairly new brand in the Australian healthcare market, I’m absolutely thrilled about the pace of our growth in such a short time and the acquisition of TaylorCare Recruitment really cements our place as an emerging industry leader,” says Matin.
“Making a real difference to as many people’s lives as possible has been a guiding principle of ours from the start. I couldn’t be more excited about this acquisition because it brings us even closer to our goal of delivering the very best outcomes for more healthcare providers, patients and professionals across Australia”.
MCG Healthcare, which is part of the Auxo Group, sees the acquisition as critical to driving further growth for the group in Australia.
“Having one successful brand in such a competitive market is an achievement in its own right, but when you get two powerhouses joining forces, it’s a recipe for magic,” says Ash Higgs, managing director of MCG Healthcare UK and chief marketing officer of Auxo Group.
“I can’t wait to see the positive impact this has on the APAC market.”
MCG Healthcare’s parent company Auxo Group notes that the acquisition of TaylorCare Recruitment is a “strategic response to the intense competition for talent in the APAC healthcare space” as well as the challenges providers face in attracting the right skills for their organisations.
“Bringing TaylorCare Recruitment under the MCG Healthcare banner with the full backing of the group positions the business to bridge these talent gaps, deliver a higher standard of solutions to providers and give healthcare professionals attractive opportunities that offer growth, purpose and stability”, says Ford Garrard, the CEO of Auxo Group.
Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
