STARTUP SECURES PARTNERSHIP WITH AUSTRALIA POST

MOBILE payment startup Sniip has announced a nation-wide partnership with Australia post to bring its disruptive tech to even more customers.

The fintech will roll out the use of Sniip to enable Australia Post customers to pay bills using the Post BillPay barcode wherever they might be using their smartphone.

Co-founder and CEO of Sniip, Damien Vasta, says the company is excited to work with Australia Post to give Australians a new, and easier, way of paying their bills.

"Working with Australia Post presents an exciting opportunity to bring the benefits of speedy and secure bill-payment to the vast network of Post BillPay users Australia-wide," says Vasta.

"This partnership is truly a breakthrough in customer service deliver, meeting the needs of the modern customer by catering for today's mobile-centric society."

Founded in 2013, Sniip is a completely integrated payments and billing solution which allows users to pay bills quickly by just using their smartphone.

By using Sniip Post BillPay, customers can use the app as an additional way to scan and pay bills using barcode technology, eliminating the tiresome process of entering a long series of reference numbers to pay a bill.

Vasta says the Sniip system will revolutionise the way Australians think about how to pay bills.

"Mobile payments have become a hugely popular method of making both discretionary and non-discretionary payments," says Vasta.

"The Sniip integration makes payments easier and safer on a mobile, allowing customers to manage their bills more efficiently in-app and simply reducing instances of misplaced bills, forgotten emails, and late payment fees."

Vasta says with an estimated 80 per cent of Australians now owning a smartphone, and people using them for almost everything they once used to do on a desktop, mobile bill paying and receiving is the way of the future.

"There is a consumer expectation that everything can be accessed on a mobile, and everything should be easy to use," says Vasta.

The Australia Post partnership follows recent partnerships for Sniip with some of the largest billers in Queensland, including Brisbane City Council and Queensland Urban Utilities.
