Perth Airport has announced that Australia's largest hotel group Accor will be operator of the first hotel on site as part of a $5 billion infrastructure program over the next decade that will include new terminal facilities and a second parallel runway and two multi-storey carparks.
The new state-of-the-art Pullman Perth Airport is expected to open in 2027 and will feature 240 rooms and suites across eight floors, a rooftop restaurant and bar, lobby lounge café, gymnasium, sauna, meeting facilities, and co-working spaces.
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of Perth Airport this week reporting EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) of $420.8 million in FY24 – up from $403.8 million a year earlier.
The previously announced $5 billion capital investment program, which is the largest private infrastructure development ever planned for Perth, will also deliver new ground transport infrastructure for the airport which handled almost 157,000 aircraft movements and more than 16.1million passengers in FY24.
Perth Airport announced early last year that it was on the hunt for an operator for the first hotel planned for the airport property.
The hotel will be located next to Metronet’s Airport Central Station, providing 12-minute access for passengers to the Perth CBD.
"The new Pullman Perth Airport hotel will be a world-class facility located at the front door to our major terminals,” says Perth Airport’s chief property officer Dan Sweet.
“It will make it even more convenient for international and interstate visitors, providing a place to stay and relax during connections.
"Pullman, along with its parent company Accor, are both well-known and respected global hospitality brands. Their expertise and experience will ensure a fantastic new accommodation offering debuts in Perth, particularly for those transiting through the airport."
Accor says the expansion of the group's airport hotel network highlights the evolution of airport precincts into major commercial and service centres.
“Given the hotel's unrivalled location and exceptional facilities, we anticipate strong interest and demand for Pullman Perth Airport from both business and leisure travellers alike,” says Adrian Williams, Accor Pacific’s chief operating officer of its Premium, Midscale & Economy division.
"Accor is the leading and largest operator of airport hotels in the Pacific region with 22 airport hotels and we are delighted to be adding Pullman Perth Airport to this collection."
The hotel design, led by DKO Architecture, will add to the rapid growth of the Pullman brand which is the largest and fastest-growing premium hotel brand for Accor.
The Pullman Perth Airport property is set to be the fourth Pullman airport hotel in the Pacific alongside Pullman Sydney Airport, Pullman Brisbane Airport and Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport Hotel which opened in December last year.
Earlier this year, Perth Airport announced it had partnered with local contractor Georgiou to deliver its first multi-storey car park, which was one of the first major projects to start construction as part of the $5 billion upgrade planned for the airport.
