A Melbourne-based software platform used to organise volunteers globally for non-profits, governments, sporting federations and events - including this year’s Superbowl in New Orleans - has raised an additional $5.5 million from Australian venture capital firm OIF Ventures.
The funding boost for Rosterfy got over the line in December as an extension to Bailador Technology Investments' (ASX: BTI) $3 million investment in October, which had followed a $9.8 million injection in April 2023.
Rosterfy's Software as a Service (SaaS) platform allows organisations to automate their end-to-end volunteer management from recruitment, screening and training through to scheduling, rewarding and reporting.
The service has helped organisations manage more than three million volunteers across 35 countries, with Rosterfy reporting it saves customers on average 50 per cent on time as well as significant costs compared to manual processes.
The international company's clientele includes Lifeline Australia, Salvation Army UK, Cancer Council Queensland, the Greater London Authority (City of London), and the Brisbane City Council.
Rosterfy is also the platform of choice for major events including the Formula 1 Grand Prix, SXSW and the Super Bowl, where it will be helping the host city New Orleans to manage approximately 7,000 volunteers across more than 13,000 shifts.

Merriman co-founded Rosterfy in 2015 alongside Shannan Gove and Chris Grant, and last year the trio won the prestigious Technology category at the 2024 Melbourne Young Entrepreneur Awards.
The solution was initially built as an internal resource to support Gove and Merriman's event staffing company Spark Event Group in its own casual workforce scheduling requirements, but they soon realised the broader potential and brought in Grant to further develop the system.
The company claims the funding milestone positions Rosterfy to solidify its leadership in the volunteer and workforce management sector, ensuring that organisations worldwide have the tools they need to make managing people simple, efficient, and impactful.
