Melbourne skincare scale-up Ultra Violette springs into Canada with Sephora ranging

Victorian premium SPF-based skincare company Ultra Violette has delivered on plans to launch in the North American market, confirming its SKINSCREENS products will be ranged at stores across Canada as well as online from 14 April.

The news follows a $15 million investment from US-based Aria Growth Partners in January to help drive a retail debut in the continent, adding to an existing presence in 250 stores in more than 28 markets globally including continental Europe, the UK, Asia and the Middle East.

Existing retail partners in other regions include Sephora, SpaceNK, Harrods and Liberty London.

Founded in 2019 by Ava Chandler-Matthews and Bec Jefferd, Ultra Violette has seen its revenue double year-over-year with consumers drawn to its products that provide not only broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection of standard sunscreen, but cater to everyday beauty routines through the infusion of "supercharged" skincare actives to prioritise wearable textures.

"In Australia, we're subject to some of the harshest sun rays in the world, which means our SPF has to be the best there is to even hit shelves," says Chandler-Matthews.

"As skincare obsessives, we also wanted to do one better by creating innovative SKINSCREENS with skin-loving actives and unmatched textures."

Jefferd says that of all the anti-ageing products available on the market, sunscreen is the single most important one.

"It's about future-proofing your face from the daily toll of UV rays and having a suite of products that can be adapted for every occasion, skin type, and tone to achieve this," she says.

Sephora Canada's senior vice president of merchandising, Jane Nugent, says the group can't wait to launch Ultra Violette and provide Canadian customers with access to its innovative suncare solutions.

"At Sephora, we are committed to offering our clients the latest innovations in beauty and Sun is a major focus for us, so Ultra Violette's arrival aligns perfectly with this mission," Nugent says.
