The revolving door of leadership at Maggie Beer Holdings (ASX: MBH) is spinning again with its third CEO resignation in less than five years, with Kind Grange indicating her intention to resign so she could "progress her career externally".
Grange joined Maggie Beer Holdings in March last year to replace Chantale Millard, who had announced her departure in October 2022 after three years in the role but had been with the company - formerly known as Longtable - for eight years before she left.
Millard's predecessor Laura McBain led Longtable for just over two years, having joined the company after more than a decade as managing director of baby formula group Bellamy's Organic.
There are faint echoes of McBain's story in Grange's situation, with the outgoing CEO having joined Maggie Beer Holdings after a long stint of almost two decades with one company - Goodman Fielder, a now Singaporean-owned Australian food company with around 1,600 employees and 12 manufacturing sites producing such brands as Meadowlea, Buttercup, Helga's and Wonder.
Grange was not the only senior recruit for Maggie Beer last year as in July the company's then-chairman Reg Weine stepped down before he was appointed CEO of goat's milk formula company Bubs Australia (ASX: BUB).
Weine was replaced by Sue Thomas as chair, and in the same month the company announced that former longstanding a2 Milk Company chief financial officer (CFO) would be joining Maggie Beer Holdings in the same role.
Grange has agreed to work with the company to assist the transition to a new CEO.
"On behalf of the Board and the Company, I wish to acknowledge and thank Kinda for her significant contribution in leading the Company since her appointment in March 2023," says Maggie Beer Holdings chair Sue Thomas.
"Kinda has successfully expanded the Maggie Beer brand to deliver strong growth and has step changed our B2B strategy to improve sales in our e-commerce business.
"We are pleased that Kinda has agreed to assist in an orderly transition to new leadership and we wish her every success in her future endeavours."
Grange says it has been a privilege to lead a company with such an iconic brand and long-term growth opportunities, and looks forward to watching the group's progress.
