LiveTiles strikes deal to help shake up US manufacturing industry

ASX-listed global software company LiveTiles (ASX: LVT) has moved deeper in the AI space in North America with a strategic deal with the Smart Manufacturing public-private partnership in the US.

As part of the deal, LiveTiles will work to deploy innovative AI-based technology to increase the competitiveness of one of the strongholds of the US economy the US$2.2 trillion manufacturing industry.

The long-form name of the US entity is the Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII) which is a public-private partnership established by the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition (SMLC) and supported by the US Department of Energy's Advanced Manufacturing Office.

As a CESMII partner, LiveTiles will focus on promoting efficiency, growth and competitiveness in the US manufacturing industry, using LiveTiles' AI technology.

"We look forward to working closely with the SMLC to meet its goals by combining the strength of the American worker with intelligent technology," says Karl Redenbach, LiveTiles co-founder and CEO.

LiveTiles and CESMII will work closely together to use LiveTiles' collaboration and bot technology to improve the industry's current IT architecture. A key focus will be to reduce complexity and drive manufacturing efficiency, by boosting collaboration and communication amongst teams and pairing workers with their individual machines using AI.

LiveTiles already works with some of the world's largest companies to build intelligent workplaces, providing the platform for users to rapidly design, create and tailor intelligent workplaces which integrate with a broad array of third-party applications.

Now, LiveTiles will implement its AI-powered bot technology to improve the way workers interact with manufacturing machinery and robotics.

"LiveTiles is a world leader in collaboration and AI software and we look forward to partnering with them to deliver innovative solutions and real productivity improvements for the US manufacturing industry," says Jim Wetzel, CEO of CESMII.

"LiveTiles and CESMII share a common vision and passion for driving the adoption of really smart and cutting-edge technology to drive efficiency and competitiveness."

The deal with CESMII follows on from a deal struck in December with Microsoft to roll out collaborative bots which will do everything from check your emails to provide lifesaving medical advice.

LiveTiles was one of the breakout tech stars on the ASX in 2017. The company's shares finished the year up 254 per cent.
