Linktree acquires emerging Melbourne-based competitor Fingertip, an all-in-one business platform

(L-R) Fingertip co-founders Olly Hoffman and Matthew Blode

Social media tech unicorn Linktree has acquired Fingertip, an all-in-one business platform founded just two years ago for freelancers, sole traders and small businesses to manage their entire digital presence on a smartphone.

The Melbourne-based Fingertip, established in 2023 by Olly Hoffman and Matthew Blode, is still in startup phase but an emerging competitor to Linktree which sees value in merging the platform to “shape the future” of its own LinkApps ecosystem.

Linktree, a fellow Melbourne company that achieved unicorn status in 2022 after raising US$110 million ($167 million) to drive its US expansion plans, is a platform that currently attracts more than 1.2 billion unique visitors every month.

The Linktree platform allows creators, artists, publishers and businesses to “sell, share and curate” everything they do online.

“The addition of Fingertip reflects Linktree’s continued commitment to build tools that evolve with the needs of our global community of more than 70 million Linkers,” says Linktree.

“From the beginning, Linktree has focused on helping anyone share their work, connect with their audience, and grow their business in one place.

“Fingertip’s thoughtful approach to design and to creator and small business workflows aligns closely with that vision, strengthening our shared goal of making digital entrepreneurship more accessible and intuitive for everyone.”

The merger of operations will see Fingertip’s platform close on 1 May 2026 when users will be invited to migrate to Linktree.

“Fingertip’s team, including its co-founders Olly Hoffman and Matthew Blode, will join Linktree to continue shaping the future of our LinkApps ecosystem, which powers integrated tools such as bookings, payments and content embeds directly within Linktree,” says the company.

Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Fingertip, whose founders Hoffman and Blode were among the finalists in the Melbourne Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards, was established for freelance contractors and small business owners who want to run their business from their phone.

The platform brings together everything from a mobile-friendly website, online booking system, invoicing and payments, product and course sales, and client communication tools.

In FY25, Fingertip was named in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia and awarded the 2025 Prodigy Award (Pause Awards), which the company says highlights its impact in the startup ecosystem.

The startup grew to host more than 20,000 in the latter half of this year since rolling out the beta 12 months ago.

“What’s been most encouraging is the depth of engagement,” says Hoffman.

“It’s not just about sign-ups but about how much people are actually running their business through Fingertip.

“We’re seeing users using it daily for bookings, invoicing, and digital product sales. That tells us the product is becoming a key piece of infrastructure for their work rather than just another tool they trial and forget.”
