FOODIES unite for Brisbane’s sixth annual Regional Flavours festival on July 19 and 20 at South Bank Parklands.
More than 70,000 people are expected to enjoy two full days of culinary experiences at the free food and wine festival, which will spotlight Matt Preston from MasterChef Australia as a special guest among others.
Regional Flavours’ 2014 focus is food for relaxation, health, well-being and sensory enjoyment.
The initiative caters to the city’s growing leisure market.
Brisbane lord mayor Graham Quirk says the event draws attention to an abundance of local produce on offer.
“One of the greatest elements of Regional Flavours is its focus on creating awareness of the amazing fresh produce here in Queensland – whether cheese, chocolate or wine – it’s all readily available right on our doorstep,” says Quirk.
“The beautiful Brisbane weather also means we can enjoy alfresco dining throughout the year, so what better way to celebrate our food and lifestyle than in the stunning Parklands.”
Headline activities include find food and wine tasting stalls along Little Stanley Street, live cooking presentations by guests such as Miguel Maestre from The Living Room and Matt Preston, and Eat Fleet gourmet food trucks.
