GAME ON FOR LEGAL WORDSMITHS

GAME ON FOR LEGAL WORDSMITHS

MORE than $6000 in prizes is up for grabs in this year's Australian Legal Writers challenge, open to all writers holding an Australian law degree or in their final year of an Australian law degree.

The competition, launched by Go To Court Lawyers on February 29, aims to showcase the law from any national jurisdiction, and entrants are challenged to write an article on an element or concept of the law that has a special relevance for the majority of Australians.

The real test, according to organisers, is for writers to find an interesting and informative topic within the law and turn it into something useful for an everyday member of the public.

There are no restrictions placed on any particular areas of law, only that the piece should be about something that is still likely to hold relevance in a year's time or longer.

Entry into the competition is free with multiple entries allowed, with the final chance to hand in all submissions by 12am on June 20, 2016.

Judged by professional lawyers, the best article writer will receive a cash prize of $5000, with $1000 up for grabs in second place and $500 to be won in third.
