DAISO CHALLENGES RETAIL SLUMP

JAPANESE bargain retailer Daiso continues to roll out rapid expansion plans, with the opening of a new store in Indooroopilly Shopping Centre on Thursday.

It will be the fourth store to open in Queensland in less than a year, with shoppers taking advantage of items sold at the uniform price of $2.80.

“Our customers love the eclectic product range, easy-to-navigate layout and of course the fact that every item is just $2.80.

The company will continue to build its Australian market, with 16 stores opening since last April in Sydney and Melbourne as well.

“We also know that our customers value the shopping experience, our stores are fun, fresh and bright.

Up to 20 new stores open in Japan every month, with 3,400 stores trading in 25 countries internationally.
