US giant Target has integrated directly with Australian digital ad platform CitrusAd in a move that is expected to empower the retailer's brands.

By directly integrating with CitrusAd's retail media platform, Target's media company Roundel is providing advertisers with a wealth of data in real-time to attract the most relevant online shoppers.

Co-founded by former AFL player and Top 100 Young Entrepreneur of 2020 Brad Moran, CitrusAd's Software as a Service (SaaS) platform allows brands to buy space for their products on retailer websites, which has proved to be a successful business model in the time of COVID-19.

"Knowledge is power and Roundel is putting Target's intelligence right at your fingertips, helping brands leverage real-time data to attract the most relevant online shoppers, at the point of purchase when they are shopping Target.com," CitrusAd said in a statement.

"Target's extensive shopper data is from millions of guest profiles across in-store and online, backed by a 145 per cent in digital sales growth year over year, as well as national reach across 1,900+ stores.

"Combine that with CitrusAd's retail media technology for one of the most powerful and exciting digital advertising opportunities in the USA."

The integration will launch in May 2021, giving brands and advertisers the ability to seamlessly launch and manage Target Product Ad campaigns via CitrusAd's platform.

The news it just the latest coup for the Brisbane-based digital ad platform which signed major clients Groupon in the US and Sainsbury's in the UK last year.

In Australia, the CitrusAd digital advertising platform is already used by major retailers including Coles, Woolworths, Officeworks and Dan Murphy's.
