Detmold Group, a global packaging company founded in Adelaide almost 80 years ago, is expanding its base at Regency Park with plans to build a new headquarters and consolidate its business under one roof by the end of next year.
The group’s new global headquarters, which will be built adjacent to Detmold’s existing manufacturing and warehousing facilities, will accommodate up to 240 employees.
Staff from eight sites across Adelaide metropolitan suburbs Brompton, Hindmarsh and Regency Park will be relocated to the planned three-level development when completed.
Detmold has appointed family-run Adelaide construction business Centina and Studio Nine Architects to respectively build and design the new headquarters which will comprise floor space of 5,100sqm.
Detmold Group, which was established in 1948 by Colin Detmold, has grown to become a global leader in premium packaging solutions with brands such as Detpak and Detmold Medical.
The company employs about 2,800 people globally, with representatives in 17 countries and manufacturing facilities in seven of these countries that produce more than 22,000 food and retail packaging products.
Detmold’s CEO Sascha Detmold Cox says the planned development represents a “strategic investment” in the future of the group.
“Purpose-built with sustainability, collaboration and employee wellbeing in mind, our new corporate home integrates contemporary design with environmentally responsible solutions and an open-plan layout that supports collaboration and innovation,” says Detmold Cox.
“Bringing our Detmold family under one roof will help foster stronger connections, knowledge sharing, and a unified culture aligned with our core values.”

Detmold Group is now run by a second and third generation of Detmold family members, supplying some of the world’s largest food and retail brands.
The new headquarters, located at 260 Regency Road in Regency Park will include formal and informal meeting spaces with an open-plan design, breakout areas, on-site parking, end-of-trip facilities and an onsite café, opening onto a spacious, green outdoor terrace.
The building will adopt green design features to maximise natural lighting and ventilation and shade for energy efficiency, wellbeing and comfort, along with rainfall harvesting and recirculation.
Centina managing director Paul Nardinocchi says the Detmold construction job will be a “flagship project” for his company next financial year.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability and supports our continued growth as a local, South Australian family business, building not just structures, but lasting community connections,” says Nardinocchi.
Site works for the development-approved building will begin in June with project scheduled for completion by October 2026.
The development will employ about 75 people on site each day and up to 200 for the entire project.
Staff from the Detmold Group corporate functions and sales companies Detpak, PaperPak, Detmold Medical and Cup & Carry will relocate to the new head office once completed.
Detmold says manufacturing at Brompton will continue, with planning under way to also relocate those operations to Regency Park within the next five years.
