A Perfect Stay goes boutique in Melbourne

Since 2004 husband and wife founders of A Perfect Stay, Sonya and Garth Brien, have operated in Byron Bay and South East Queensland. But their ambitions are bold and the team have looked south for expansion.

The duo have acquired Melbourne-based Boutique Stays, adding 65 properties to A Perfect Stay's existing network, bringing its total portfolio to more than 300 properties.

The company, originally named Byron Bay Holiday Rentals, grew from humble beginnings with a studio at Wategos Beach. Since then, the group has expanded through South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

With its latest acquisition the company has changed its name to reflect its national ambitions, with Melbourne being the tip of that iceberg.

The company has recently seen significant growth and from its inception to June 2019 the husband and wife duo have accommodated over 160,000 guests and booked over 910,000 guest nights.

With the acquisition of Boutique Stays the pair are set to hit their millionth guest night by Christmas this year.

National marketing manager of A Perfect Stay Angela Spher says guests are attracted to the company's no-nonsense approach to accommodation.

"We've seen exponential organic growth since establishing the business in 2004. We put this down to the fact that Australians want a 'perfect' getaway without dealing with cancelled bookings and false advertisements," says Spher.

"Both guests and homeowners want professionalism and reliability when booking a holiday and this is reflected by the growing number of guest bookings with us every year."

With the addition of Melbourne as the group's new location the business now operates accommodation in Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Scotts Head, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, Sydney and the Mornington Peninsula.

A Perfect Stay is more than just an Airbnb style business and distribution platform; the group manages each property from styling, to renovations as well as guest vetting, cleaning, maintenance and property management.

"The concept behind A Perfect Stay means that our guests can 'feel at home anywhere', they get the perfect stay and we take care of the rest - and the same goes for property owners. We manage the whole experience for them," says Spher.
