THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE

OUR annual entrepreneur awards recognised achievement and showcase the city’s top business talent.

Young entrepreneurs don’t sit around waiting for something to happen, they make things happen.

Entering the Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Awards provides the chance to make things happen in business through recognition in the city’s premier business publication, Brisbane Business News.

The inaugural winner of the title, Bevan Slattery (pictured), won his first Young Entrepreneur Award for his PIPE Networks business. He was recognised last year with the trailblazer award for his new enterprise, NEXTDC.

Slattery is a true entrepreneur. He makes things happen, he acts and he has reaped the rewards. NEXTDC is worth $212 million.

“I’m not afraid to take advantage of opportunities and manage the risk that comes with that,” he says.

Now is the chance to emulate business owners and entrepreneurs like Slattery. Nominations are now open for the 2012 Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Awards.

The awards are open to business owners operating in the greater Brisbane area who are aged 40 or under in 2012.

The overall winner will be crowned as Brisbane’s Young Entrepreneur for 2012 and will be profiled in a cover story in our November issue of Brisbane Business News.

The Highly Commended and Trailblazer award winners will receive prestigious trophies while all finalists will be profiled in our November edition.

The awards, in their fourth year, have recognised some of Queensland’s best business talent, including coffee king Phillip Di Bella and electric components exporter Quynh Anh Le.

Nominations for this year’s awards close on October 5. Entries can be submitted online at brisbanebusinessnews.com.au.

The 2012 Brisbane Young Entrepreneur award winners will be announced at a gala luncheon at Cloudland, Fortitude Valley on Friday, November 9. Tickets are only $109 each, or a special price of $990 for a table of 10.

To register for the luncheon, call (07) 3608 2069, or email admin@businessnewspublications.com.au
