START-UP SUCCESS STORY HEADS TO BRISBANE

THE CEO from a leading US-based online photography start-up will head to Brisbane this week, to help coach budding entrepreneurs.

ImageBrief CEO Simon Moss has been invited to share his story and advice, as part of Digital Brisbane Strategy’s Visiting Entrepreneurs Program.

The on-demand photography and video service works with a network of more than 18,000 photographers around the world.

Moss has raised more than US$3 million in funding from angel investors and venture capital funds for ImageBrief since its inception in 2011.

Finance, Economic Development and Administration chairman Cr Julian Simmonds says he is the perfect candidate for the program.

“ImageBrief is a fantastic example of disruption of a long-entrenched business model,” Simmonds says.

“It epitomises what entrepreneurship and digital thinking is all about and is a great success story to be sharing with our local entrepreneurs.

“Simon Moss’ visit under the Visiting Entrepreneurs Program is a testament to the city’s commitment to the Digital Brisbane Strategy to provide assistance to our ever-growing small and medium businesses, digital and start-up sectors.”

Moss will meet with the local business community, as well as senior officials from local and state government while in Brisbane.
