ROBINSON COOKS FOR CHARITY

ROBINSON COOKS FOR CHARITY

BARRY Robinson (pictured) is among the top CEO Cookoff fundraisers as the event gets underway this afternoon.

The managing director and CEO of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific is the only Gold Coast-based CEO involved in the event and $21,770 puts him at the top of the Queensland contingent and ninth overall on the fundraising leader board.

The Sydney event will bring together 136 CEOs and 30 celebrity chefs to cook for the disadvantaged and raise money for OzHarvest, The Big Issue and ONE80TC.

The total amount raised this year is approaching $1 million and organisers are hoping that number doubles.

“It is a honour for me to be involved in the 2013 CEO CookOff and I am looking forward to putting my cooking skills to the test to help Australians in need,” says Robinson.

“I encourage everyone to get behind this very worthy cause to help combat food insecurity and homelessness.”

Di Bella Coffee, McPhee Distribution Services, Metro Group and Associates, Xerox Business Centre and Flowoxygen are among Robinson’s supporters.

Last year, 130 business leaders and 30 celebrity chefs cooked for and fed people in need and collected almost $1 million for charity.

Food insecurity affects an estimated one in 20 people and homelessness impacts on 105,000 people each night, according to OzHarvest.
