THE chairman of Allconnex Water John Dempsey has resigned today effective as of September 30.
Dempsey was not available to comment, but his resignation follows an ongoing saga between the water retailer, Gold Coast ratepayers and state and local governments.
Allconnex has been in hot water over water prices since it was charged to manage the Gold Coast City Council water this year. It is also the retailer for Logan at Redlands Shire councils.
“Allconnex thanks John for his significant contribution during the first year of operation of the organisation,” says CEO Kim Wood in a statement.
Last month Gold Coast ratepayers received news that they would be stuck with Allconnex after the State Government declared that Gold Coast City Council had missed the June 30 deadline to opt out.
